![]() ![]() I just couldn't deal with his personality and his holier than thou attitude. For the most part, the MC made be cringe. The book has a great premise and the writing is good, but I gave up on it. The book ends without any real accomplishment other than the group for future books is formed. ![]() The dialogue is wooden and reads like it was done as a high school class writing assignment. The good guys are easy to spot as are the bad guys. The start of the book is interesting, the maneuvering of the gods and getting to learn about this new world. There is severe prejudice against the bonded, who are basically slaves, mixed blood people, and the shamed. If it is bad enough the queens get involved and deform you in some way, and that is called being shamed. If you are wronged by somebody they get to name your punishment, if they name too harsh of one, they get punished. Words are binding for agreements, debts and souls. ![]() She hopes he will dethrone the queens so she can save her people but he isn't obligated to. She gives him a new body, extra strong that can do magic and he gets to live out his days on a new world. He gets a bunch of offers from various gods and he choses an Irish goddess of fate. ![]()
